About Kathie
Kathie plays string bass and hammered dulcimer, and she sings lead and harmony vocals in the groups varied song repertoire. Her educational background in music helps her to add historical perspectives to the groups performances. Kathie's hammered dulcimer playing adds the unique sound of that ancient instrument, which was brought to America by English and German settlers. She has given workshops on hammered dulcimer at the Cranberry Dulcimer Gathering in New York, the Fiddlers Grove Workshops in North Carolina, the Winston-Salem Dulcimer Festival, the Chestnut Ridge (PA) Dulcimer Festival, and at dulcimer club meetings in several states. She now serves on the Board of Directors of the Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering and coordinates the workshop schedule for that annual June festival.
